Introduction

If you're an owner or admin in Astrato, the Workbook Accelerator option in the Administration tab allows you to create a new workbook based on our predefined template, which displays consumption data pulled from your Snowflake account.

This accelerator allows you to visualize your Snowflake usage and credit consumption. Once you connect to your data connection, you can install a workbook accelerator, which will be ready to publish in a collection.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have a data connection that uses the Snowflake database and that the user can access the account usage schema in your Snowflake instance.

Pre-test your Astrato data connection by creating a new data view and looking for the above schema on the select screen; you should see it like this in Astrato.

To validate that the connection works, search for the Query history view.
Click on it.

In the main area click on the preview tab.
The image shows an example of the data that should be displayed.

Installing the Snowflake consumption workbook.

  • Open the tenant administration section in Astrato.

  • In Administration, click on the Workbook Accelerator.

  • Hover over the Snowflake consumption workbook and click Install.

  • Select the data connection you prepared as part of the perquisites and click Connect.

  • Select the collection in which the workbook is going to be created and click Publish.
