Introduction
Alternative measures and dimensions let users explore data the way they naturally think. They can swap or add new measures and dimensions directly in a visualization, instantly reframing the analysis without losing the context of surrounding charts. This flexibility turns dashboards into interactive data apps that surface new business questions and insights on the fly.
Setting Up Alternative Measures and Dimensions

Alternative measures and dimensions are enabled by default and can be disabled or enabled on a chart level using the setting at the bottom of the Data tab in the properties panel.

Dimension Settings

Measure Settings
Keep measure fixed: For each measure added to the visualization, you have the option to define it as a fixed measure. When fixed, this measure will always be part of the visualization and won't appear in the list of alternative measures.
Using Alternative Measures and Dimensions
Using the alternative measure and dimensions is simple, on the axis click on the axis label a menu is opened. Select the alternative measures or dimensions you want to see in the chart. Once you move your mouse pointer outside the menu area, the menu will close automatically.
Bookmarks:
User bookmarks will save the current state of the visible alternative dimensions & measures currently visible if the Visualization Sate is active:
Notes:
When selecting measures and dimensions, sometimes the selection will be added to the selected items and sometimes it'll replace the existing selected item. This is to maintain a valid chart configuration.
For example: if a bar chart has two dimensions, you won't be able to add a second measure and it will replace the existing measure.
Drill-through dimension: When opening the dimensions menu you might notice that some of the dimensions have a small arrow right to their name. This is because this is a drill-through dimension, clicking on the arrow will open the drill through menu to select the active dimension within the drill-through group.
