  • AI Provider Managment

    The new AI provider management screen is in the Data section. It simplifies the definition of an AI provider using a selected LLM model.

  • Improved Workbook Metadata

    Published workbook collections are displayed when hovering over the published workbook tag in the workbook tile.

Bug Fixes

  • Stored Procedure Timeout Extended

    When calling the stored procedure as part of a report generation, the timeout is extended to 2.5 minutes.

  • Drill-Through Dimension in a Table Dimension

    Drilling through data is essential to any analytics process that looks for the root causes in data insights.

    Tables are another essential part of displaying detailed data for users.
    Combining drill-through with a table enhances self-service analytics; it provides end-users with a simple and powerful tool to find data insights.

  • Send Schedule Reports To External Emails

    Schedule reports can be distributed to any email address, including external addresses outside the user's organization.

  • Advanced Calculation- Support for Variables

    Define the settings for Advanced Calculations using variables, enabling end-users to change the calculations on the fly.
    For example, users can set the period for moving average calculation.

Bug Fixes

  • Sort Measure and Calculated Column Combination

    Using a Sort Measure in a Table when using a calculated column results in empty cells in the calculated column.

3.5 - 20 March 2025

Features

  • Natural Language measure generation (AI-assisted)

    Generate a measure by describing the measure in natural language.
    Speed up and simplify measure generation.
    Describe the measure and get a suggested result; measure generation includes checks and warnings to ensure the measure's validity.
    Easily reuse previous prompts or previously generated measures for small changes.

  • Pivot Table Selections

    Data insights are now easier to use with enhanced pivot table capabilities.

    Drill down into insights by selecting the dimensions or cells in a pivot table.

  • AI Actions

    New actions to use AI to generate insights from a selected chart or responses from a generic prompt.
    Combining these actions with existing capabilities helps build tailor-made AI interactions for users.

  • Actions Improved Help

    Actions are powerful tools when building data apps, and the improved help describes the action block when hovering over it.
    This helps lower the level of expertise needed to use this powerful tool.

  • Actions- Apply Public Bookmark in Embeds

    Apply public bookmark is now supported in Embeds.

Bugfixes

  • Map- Point Layer Coloring

    Using the same measure to set both the size and the color, now colors the points according to the measure value.

Features

  • πŸ†• Map Connection Layer

    A new layer in the map that displays a line\arrow between a start and end points.

    The new layer helps highlight how data flows between different points.
    Some use cases are:

    • Analyze shipment distribution efficiency from warehouse to customers.

    • Analyze customers' access to stores

    • Population migration analysis

    • Patient paths when visiting a hospital.

    With the new layer, the user can identify bottle snacks in flows, trends, and the impact of different paths.

  • Addiontal Google Fonts

    Additional Google fonts are now available in Astrato visualization and themes.

  • Improved Dropdown Filter Scaling

    The Dropdown filter now scales dynamically, ensuring the dropdown box always fits inside the object.

Bugfixes

  • An icon is missing for the Geography Type fields.

    When selecting fields in the filter bar, the icon of the field type is missing for geography fields.
    ​

  • Measures Visual Representation missing in Pivot Table

    When displaying the measures as rows in a pivot table, the measures' visual representation is not shown.
    ​

  • Fetching All Projects in Google BigQuery

    Only the first 200 projects in BigQuery are fetched; paging in the connection isn't performed.

  • Excel Reporting

    Astrato transforms Excel reporting with its live query capabilities, enabling seamless collaboration on financial data. Our BI tool streamlines workflows, allowing users to make real-time adjustments, add commentary, and easily manage approvals. Once finalized, reports can be exported to Excel, complete with the latest data and professionally formatted, all powered by Astrato's continuous live data connection

  • Data Notifications

    We are excited to introduce our new Notifications and Alerting feature, currently available in beta. This innovative feature lets you conditionally trigger notifications for key events, such as new customer sign-ups, or when specific thresholds are exceeded.

  • Measure Validation Warning

    A new validation test in measure creation flow: if the measure value is null or zero, a warning will appear before the measure is created.

  • Change Field Type in Dataview

    When the field type is changed in the data source, the field type in the Dataview must be changed, but all the measures and dimensions the field is used in must be retained.

  • Extended Query Metadata

    Astrato queries include more details about the query used by end users.

    The report monitoring table includes new information about the last run duration; this helps identify any change in report generation run time

  • Get Object SQL Action.

    A new action block to get the SQL code behind any chart, including all the applied filters.
    This Action allows you to leverage Astrato's smart SQL engine to build complex queries that can be used in other processes, such as AI analysis, forecasting, and more.

  • Analyze Radar Cahrts in Astrato AI Insights

    A radar chart is now supported in AI Insights. Users can ask for AI insights based on any radar charts

  • Shorter Reposnse in AI Isinghts objects

    A new option to select an even shorter response in the AI Insights object.

3.2 - 04 February 2025

Features

  • Associative Filters

    A new type of filter that allows users to answer business questions such as:

    • Customers who bought Product A and didn't buy Product B or Product C
      The results can be used for a promotion campaign.

    • Deals that had an activity-type call last month and don't have any activity this month.
      The result can help sales cycles to close faster and not fall under the radar.

    • Products that were sold in one of the countries in Europe to female customers or Products that were sold in Asia to customers younger than 30
      The results can be used to align the product offering in different places.

    The Associative filters enhance the self-service capabilities in Astrato by allowing users to ask more business questions and find more actionable insights.

    All without needing the data team to prepare complex formulas and data models to answer these questions.

  • Bookmarks- control which variables will be included in bookmarks

    Creators can exclude certain variables from inclusion in bookmarks,
    This new option prevents user confusion when unexpected values are saved in their bookmarks.
    ​

Bugfixes

  • Can't use variables when a measure filter is using a timestamp field

    For numeric variables to be assigned to the measure parameter value when the source field type is timestamp or datetime.
    ​

  • Markdown Text Extra Line has been added to View mode.

    In view mode, an empty line is added when markdown is used to format the text.
    ​

  • Stacked Bar Chart Data Label

    A new option in the measure data label to display the share of individual bar out of the total value of the stacked bar.

Bugfixes

  • [Map] Persistent colors in shape layers

    The option to set the categorical colors as persistent to align the coloring with other visualizations is now available in shape layers.

3.01 - 15 January 2025​

Features

  • Bar chart, the option to disable the totals display is missing in the property panel.

    Control the tooltip display by enabling or disabling the total value display in the tooltip.

  • Improved AI Isngihts display

    AI insights now use Markdown when generating the response.
    The result is easier-to-read insights.

  • Add orientation options for Gauge Bars

    A new option to display Gauge Bars in vertical mode.

  • Measure only radar chart

    A radar chart can be built using only measures;

    The minimum required measures are three.

Bugfixes

  • [Pie chart] Show/hide totals setting for the tooltip is not working

  • [Container PP] Changes are lost when changing multiple properties

    When changing various settings for a group container, only the last change is saved, and all other changes are reverted.

  • [Custom report] When a sorting measure is added, it can't be removed or modified

    A measure that is added to the sort-by-measure section can be removed.

  • [Table] Minor fixes to result-filters in headers

    When a result filter is removed, the filter Icon is also removed from the table header.

  • [Google BigQuery] Support for Array Field in queries.

    An array field type is supported in queries.

Features

  • Workbook Life-Cycle (Versions)

    Manage workbook development using versions, rollback easily to previous versions,
    Move version between workbooks and more.

  • Advanced chart calculations- Percentile

    There are new options to use the percentile as the aggregation operator in advanced chart calculations.
    ​

  • Advanced chart calculations- Accumulated Growth

    New settings to control the sort order to calculate the function. This option overrides the chart sorting order.

    And an option to tie a parameter in the reference measure to a variable.
    ​

  • Custom report- remove multiple dimensions and measures in edit mode

    A new option to remove various dimensions and measures at once when editing a custom report.
    ​

  • Custom report- date field includes nulls by default

    Date fields used in the custom report include null records by default.
    ​

  • Table- Apply range filter in dimensions

    Apply a range filter to the numeric and date dimensions in the table.
    ​

  • Map- Persistent categorical coloring

    A new setting to set the categorical coloring in the map to be persistent.
    This option enables the creation of a silent map legend by highlighting the colors in another chart.
    ​

  • Treemap chart- AI insight support

    Treemap charts can analyzed for insight by Astrato's AI insights.
    ​

  • Extend Query Timeout

    A new setting in charts to extend a query run time to perform long-running queries.

Bugs

  • Excluding a selected value when using a table dimension for filtering

    Excluding a value chosen when using a table dimension for filtering will convert the selection to not operation.
    ​

  • The size of objects inside a group changes when a margin is added in the group settings.

    If a group has a defined margin value, the size of objects in that group changes when edited.
    ​
